HUNGER DOESN'T WAIT..

 We have volunteers on the ground in Serbia who are the hands and feet of our organization. Anyone needing our support gets in contact with out staff in Serbia and our staff goes through a list of questions to make sure that that they qualify for our support. Once the application is reviewed and decided that they need our support, our staff in Serbia meet with them and bring them their first package of food. At the first meeting we collect a little bit more information about them so that we can see if there's more areas we can help with besides food. We do a review of their living situations every 3 months to ensure that those who actually need our help are getting it. 

We help with both emergency situations as well as provide food parcels for a few months to help families get back on their feet. Every family situation is different and our volunteers do an amazing job of assessing and evaluating each situation accordingly.

Right now we are currently serving families in 15 different towns & villages!  We plan to extend to neighboring towns and villages as we make new connections. 

While our mission is to address hunger by providing food packages to families, we do help with other necessities like clothing & firewood to stay warm during the cold months. 

My family and I visited Serbia in 2018. We immediately fell in love with the people and the language. As soon as we came back to Canada we found a Serbian language teacher online and the kids and I started a long journey of learning the beautiful language. Since then we have been back every 6 months and started a organization called Basket of Hope, both in Canada and in Serbia. Basket of Hope is a charity designed to provide food packages to struggling families in Serbia. With the help of the locals, Basket of Hope feeds and provides other necessities to more and more families every month. We walk with these families and encourage them along the way and remind them that they are not alone.
